How Platform works
Platform aggregates Indian IPO data from several public sources, reconciles them into one record per IPO, and refreshes continuously. Nothing is hand-entered.
Updated 1 September 2026
The pipeline
A scheduled job fetches from every source, normalises each into a common shape, and merges them into a single snapshot — one record per IPO — stored in a fast cache. Pages read that snapshot; the site never scrapes while you wait. If a refresh fails, the previous snapshot keeps serving and a freshness badge shows its age.
Sources
| IPO Watch & other trackers | GMP, live subscription (QIB/NII/retail), price bands, recent listing gains |
|---|---|
| Company IPO pages | Lot size, registrar, the full open/close/allotment/listing timeline, issue size |
| NSE / BSE public data | Symbols, official dates, live bidding — used where reachable |
| Yahoo Finance | Current market price for recently listed stocks |
The headline GMP is the figure from the source that tracks the grey market in near-real-time, so it matches what the live GMP trackers are quoting; a slower source is kept only as a cross-check. When three or more sources have a figure, an outlier-trimmed median is used instead. Each source's own number and the spread are always shown. Every field on an IPO page names the source it came from, and live source health is on the status page.
Refresh cadence
Roughly every 10 minutes during market hours, less often overnight. The subscription tracker polls more frequently near an IPO's close. Timestamps everywhere show how fresh a figure is.
Limitations
- GMP is an unofficial grey-market number — see what that means.
- Scraped figures can lag the exchanges by minutes, or be wrong if a source changes format.
- Allotment status is never handled here — Platform only links to the official registrar / BSE pages.
- AI features (the assistant, per-IPO overviews, the daily digest) are generated from this data and can be inaccurate; they are labelled and are not advice.
